Two specialist fields. One focused preparation plan.
Artificial intelligence is reshaping how organisations use data and make decisions. Cybersecurity protects the systems and information behind those decisions. For experienced professionals, the EPSO AD8 competition offers an opportunity to bring specialist expertise to the European institutions.

Your choice should reflect your qualifications and the professional experience you can document. Review the eligibility requirements and typical duties in the official notice, then connect them to specific projects, responsibilities and outcomes in your career.
Typical duties cover technical AI work, governance and compliance, and AI policy. When reviewing your experience, describe your own contribution clearly: what you developed, assessed, implemented or advised on, and the context in which you worked.
Typical duties include risk management, security assessments, systems protection and incident response. Build a clear account of the responsibilities you held and the security challenges you addressed.
The competition includes Reasoning Skills, a field-related multiple-choice test and the EUFTE written test. Reasoning is taken in language 1; the field-related test and EUFTE are taken in language 2.
Practise Verbal, Numerical and Abstract Reasoning with a consistent method. In Verbal, distinguish what the passage proves from what merely sounds plausible. In Numerical, choose efficient calculations and check units. In Abstract, identify rules before testing possible answers.
Organise your study into manageable topics. Follow each topic with multiple-choice practice, then review the reasoning behind every answer. Record recurring gaps so that your next study session has a clear purpose.
Practise reading an assignment carefully, selecting relevant information and building a structured response. Give each paragraph a clear role. Leave time to check whether you have answered the question directly and supported your conclusions.
Study → targeted questions → timed mock → error review.
Use this cycle to turn reading into active preparation. Keep an error log, revisit difficult topics and track both accuracy and time. A mock exam is most useful when its results shape what you study next.
